On January 8 and 9 the Verizon Wireless Arena will host the Monster Jam Thunder Nationals, and Lee USA Speedway will be there. Lee will have 4 cars on display in the entrance area of the arena.
The cars will include the 27 Late Model that Wayne Helliwell Jr drove to a championship, Dan Bowes’ championship winning Small Block Super Modified, and Eddie MacDonald’s NASCAR Camping World East car. The identity of the 4th car is still being kept a secret. “We have several people that are interested in displaying their cars at the show for the race track, and we’re very grateful for all of them. I wish we could line the streets with Lee cars, but the arena is only allowing us to have the 4 cars on display, and we’re grateful for that.” Said Bob Watson. “I don’t know if most of the people that will be at the show have ever seen a super modified, but I’m willing to bet that there will be plenty that find them impressive and will want to see them in action.”
The Thunder Nationals events take place in smaller arenas on concrete floors, featuring wheelie contests, racing, donut contests, and freestyle competitions. The show is scheduled to have Monster Trucks including Grave Digger (Driven by Charlie Pauken), Monster Mutt dalmatian, Eradicator, Backdraft, Dominator, and Thrasher. Also featuring the fire-breathing, car-eating Megasaurus and Sprocket the Clown.
